We acquired this pair of Tannoys from a customer who purchased them new but quickly realised they were simply too large for his space. Unfortunately, the original dealer wouldn’t accept a return, so the speakers came to us as a trade-in.
They are effectively brand new and untouched, and will be supplied complete with all original accessories and peripherals. It’s a truly timeless design—an unmistakable British classic that has remained largely unchanged for years for one simple reason – it just works.

The Turnberry GR-OW is a 2-way floorstanding loudspeaker designed to shine in medium to large rooms, combining effortless scale with the kind of coherence that makes music feel “locked in” to the space. Tannoy’s Dual Concentric driver technology remains the star of the show here, delivering that true point-source presentation with superb imaging and a natural, seamless blend from bass through to treble.
At its core is a 10″ high-efficiency Dual Concentric driver, rated at 93 dB/W sensitivity with a formidable 400 Watt peak power handling. The result is a speaker that plays with real dynamic headroom—impactful when you want it, but equally controlled and refined at lower levels. High frequencies are guided by Tannoy’s Tulip Waveguide and a 33mm aluminium-magnesium dome, helping to preserve clarity, articulation and a beautifully open top end without losing the speaker’s trademark cohesion.
The bass and midrange carry that same sense of authority. A paper pulp low-frequency cone with a twin roll fabric surround delivers a warm, natural tonality with excellent texture and weight, while the Turnberry’s Distributed Port system extends low frequencies with depth and scale, giving bass that feels both powerful and properly integrated. The cabinet itself plays a huge role in that composure: built from high-density particle board for rigidity, and further reinforced with DMT (Differential Materials Technology) bracing to stabilise the structure and optimise acoustic performance.
Inside, the crossover is built with care and purpose, using quality capacitors, low-loss laminated core inductors and close-tolerance wirewound resistors to maintain a balanced, true-to-life presentation. Connection is via custom gold-plated bi-wireable binding posts for maximum signal integrity, with an additional fifth grounding terminal that helps reduce radio frequency interference—often translating into a cleaner, more focused midrange.
Visually, the Turnberry GR-OW is every bit as special as it sounds. The handcrafted, oiled walnut veneered cabinet with walnut inlays is timeless, and details like the precision-machined gold anodised aluminium adjustment panel and metal trim elevate the whole piece. Tannoy even includes a specially formulated Prestige wood wax to keep the finish looking immaculate for years.
Tannoy represents nearly a century of British sound heritage and engineering, and the Turnberry GR-OW is one of the clearest expressions of that legacy—classic in design, modern in performance, and built for serious, long-term listening.
